What counts in a Windows audit
A software audit checks three things three things: how many devices have Windows installed, in which edition, and whether there is a proof of purchase for each installation. The central document is the proper invoice with stated VAT. We provide it with every order as a PDF in Swiss format.
If an audit procedure additionally requires a procurement record, that is, proof of the licence's origin, we provide this on request. The standard scope of delivery is the VAT invoice, which is sufficient in the vast majority of procedures.
How to procure in an audit-proof way
- Document licences in an orderly way. One invoice per device, filed within easy reach. This is the most important audit preparation.
- Choose the edition cleanly. Windows Pro for devices with domain integration or BitLocker, Home for standard workstations. A list helps in an audit.
- Buy from a provider that offers proof. A VAT invoice and, on request, a procurement record are what count when it really matters.
- Take advantage of advice before buying. We check with you which edition each device needs, so that nothing is missing and nothing is over-licensed.
